Very curious because I really like Bowdoin, but Middlebury and Amherst excite me as well.

It just felt right. And the differences weren’t material. Personally, I preferred being on the coast to being in the mountains. I wasn’t looking at Middlebury, but I did look seriously at Amherst. My gut feeling at Amherst wasn’t positive, even though I think it’s a great school. On paper, I thought it would be my top choice, so I was surprised when I visited how disconnected I felt. Same with Williams and Wesleyan. I may have been interested in Middlebury, had I gone, but the sense of isolation at both Midd and Williams was a negative for me. Bowdoin isn’t in a metropolis, of course, but it’s off 95 and it didn’t seem terribly removed from everything. I say check out the physical campuses if possible. That made up my mind. If that doesn’t help, flip a coin for ED.

Honestly, my nephew picked it because it was test optional. He was valedictorian of his class with great ECs, but test scores were not super. He wouldn’t have gotten into the others…

are you going to apply to one of these fro ED?

D said it just felt right- more laid back less competitive atmosphere than the others, also felt some of the others were more isolated

Medion–probably, still deciding

oh…I might apply there for ED.
