what majors and/or careers should shy people go into or consider

accounting :)

^^^ Ignore or delete that post, accounting requires a lot of communication skills, especially if you are in Financial Audit.

Work on getting over being shy. Staying shy your whole life gives little advantage.

I'm shy......I'm doing psychology....I'm usually ok with one on one communication but if i need to see a group at once....no =[........actually I'm in this Research Assistant in the psy department n I guessed it dragged me out of the shyness and got me to communicate more. It's never too late to give it a shot to get urself out of shyness.....well at least improving a little bit =D

I'm not sure... I think most jobs require communication with other people of some sort. My shyness went away when I got my first job. I hear Toastmaster's is also a good way to get passed shyness.

you're probably overplaying this.
Besides, I greatly perfer people with a little shyness rather then loud and obnoxious losers.
