I am soooo full of school spirit

I am soooo full of school spirit

There's my highschool. Except, there's grass now. In the picture it's all dirt. Yuck. It's kind of a big picture, but I'm lazy. It's all you get.

(my school was designed by a prison designer, which is great...)

I go there.

Whoa. You know what else is different at my school? That green patch of grass over on the right side, is now an indoor hockey rink.

Haha, theoneo, your school looks like my old middle school.

Unique thing about my school? It used to be a bank. Not even joking. We keep spare computer parts and science experiments in the vault.

My school is where Georgetown University got its name. They like to say that the college came first, but the Little Hoyas know the truth.

Picture from November:

Since then, the fields have been completed (the baseball team just had its first home game), and the big patch of dirt on the right is quickly becoming the new athletic center as seen here: http://www.gprep.org/construction/images/Aerials/January%2026%202006/Athletic%20Center%20Site%201%2026%2006.JPG

Though now the roof is up.

We're also the oldest boarding school in the country and the only Jesuit boarding school.

My school is used in a lot of movies and The Breakfast Club was actually modeled after my school while Ferris Buehler's Day Off and Hoosiers were actually filmed there (New Trier.) I guess another interesting tidbit would be that Virginia Madsen visited our school last year and Donald Rumsfeld actually went here.

Haha I didn't mean to say my school is crap or anything. It was built like six years ago. Our main hallway is SOOOOOO huge that they say you can fit a Boeing 737 in it. :P

We have two high schools in our district. The other one has no windows. But hey, Ethan Hawke and some famous director graduated from there, so all is good.

kman do you go to SWD? I know plenty of people that go there. They leave the magnet program at Chamblee because the bus ride is so long.
Uhhh my school is a top 100 public school, but I don't know the exact rank.
We made it to the play offs for the first time in 20 years and the only time to get to the second round.
We have the number 1 cross country runner in the state. and like 14th in the country.
We the People went to Nationals last year.
Our Oddessy of the Mind team has been to world three times.
We have the oldest school in DeKalb county and someone burned the orginal wooden building down on Dec 7. 1941.

Interesting. Are there any Evanston Twp HS students anywhere on here?

No, I am a student at Shaker Heights (OH). I have a cousin who is a student at Decatur, however, and an aunt who was a former 12 AP Lit teacher in the same school.

We had a ThinkQuest team win first in the world.

NJ is soo effed up. They cheated my school out of going to We the People nationals this year. At first they announced that we won first place, then they said they'd messed up and one of our ULTIMATE rivals had won. When we got the scorecards a bunch of scores had been crossed out and lower scores had been written next to then in different ink. How cheap is that?

VERY CHEAP.

Interesting, are you sure that they screwed up or that it was rigged? I find it hard to believe that at that level of competition the judges would have messed up that badly.

That's the thing. We're all convinced that it's rigged. The same school has one first place every year for like 15 years.

Hey, in a state where $144 million was stolen from one of the premier research universities in the world by our oh-so-wonderful government for preschoolers, I wouldn't be surprised if certain people were abusing their behind-the-scenes connections.

In a competition in sixth grade the judges, moderators and supervisors were all from the host school, which had a team. The host school's team won, naturally. We know that they rigged the questions and timing as to defeat us, because my father timed it.

its 72% asian, 70% of students wear seven jeans, 40% of students drive mercedes/lexus/bmws to school.....yeahh

Where are you? Arcadia? That is the only place besides Lynbrook and Monta Vista I can think of that would match that description.

We're about 45% Asian, 45% Caucasian, 10% neither. Everyone is very rich and snobby. Well, most everyone.

We're about 85% White, 14% Native American, 1% Asian or Black.
