what matters to you essay question

So I think this would be a good idea for my "what matters to you" short essay, but I have this lingering fear that the topic is going to come across as being very clich

Thats not cliched, thats personal to you, and an excellent topic! I would just speak from the heart and not worry about what has been done before.

i don’t understand what ever should matter to my roommate.the only thing that comes to mind is that i’m homosexual and take drugs, but should that show up on my essay?

I just wrote an essay that came from heart, yet sucked in structure and presentation. This essay just overrode my other two brilliant essays and quirky short answers…

Not feeling very good about the app I sent to Stanford… I just hope I get in RD…

One more question. For the note to your future roommate essay, it’s okay if the grammar/structure isn’t…exactly as formal as other essays right? mine is a bit out there…

Be disgustingly honest.

Still, I wouldn’t talk about drug use. Jheez! Why would you want the admissions to see that?
