What music do you listen to?

Who are your favorite musicians?

I like folk, '60s pop, and alt the best.

My favorite musicians are the Beatles, Bright Eyes, Beck, Bob Dylan, bicycle (they all start with "B"!), Nick Drake, Elliott Smith, the Who, Pink Martini, and St. Vincent, among others.

Different types of rock. Jet, Radiohead, Senses Fail, Rise Against.......

Eazy E, Akon, Wu-tang Clan, bon Jovi, Senses Fail, Relient k, AAR, Bayside, Hawthorne Heights , The who, The Clash, 2Pac, Mase, Dave Mathews Band

Different types of rock, metal, jazz, and classical for me.

The Feel Good Drag by Anberlin
Paper Wings by Rise Against
The Scientist by Coldplay
The Kill by 30 Seconds to Mars
Never Too Late by Three Days Grace

I listen mainly to heavy metal, but I also enjoy classical and jazz. Basically I like instrumentals and the screaming vocals in some of my favorite bands are a learned taste.

I like Slayer, Children of Bodom, Lamb of God, Arch Enemy, Kalmah, Amon Amarth, and a variety of other bands. These bands are far from one-hit wonders because I pretty much listen to all their songs.

My favorite classical composers are Chopin, Beethoven, Liszt, and Mozart. I also enjoy Grieg and Tchaikovsky.

I can't stand what the mainstream listens to, especially repetitive Us, Os, and Supamans accompanied by some really stupid dance.

Punk rock / college rock / alternative rock / pop rock

Blink 182 and We The Kings are my current top two.

classic rock mainly the beatles (hence the name), bob dylan, the who, jimi hendrix, prog rock mainly ELP, genesis, yes, rush, folk pop mainly CSNY, joni mitchell, and power/baroque pop like the beach boys, oasis, ELO, elton john, travis, panic at the disco, ect. i also like the flight of the conchords, a lot of rap, and classic soul.

Country, baby.

I am the only person under 30 that I know who likes country music (but not hardcore backwoodsy stuff. More like John Denver). I also like whatever's on the radio (I'm not picky), some jazz, some rap, a lot of soft rock, and The Barenaked Ladies (whatever the h*** they are), Reel Big Fish (THEY ARE AMAZING!), and whoever's on Scrubs. And although I do like Can't Buy Me Love, I'm sorry to say that I do not very much like the Beatles. I have tried, and I apparently lack the cognitive function to like them (although I can understand why others do). My best friend is a hardcore Beatles fanatic; this has caused problems.

Indie Rock/Indie Rap/Experimental Jazz & Funk

Examples-Indie Rock [The Shins, The Strokes, The Cribs, Cold War Kids, Iron & Wine]
Indie/Alternative Rap [Atmosphere, Gorillaz, The Roots, Gym Class Heroes]

Experimental Stuff-John Frusicante (from the chili peppers), The Cinematic Orchestra, etc]

Aw, just when I had given up on this thread getting any responses...

Anyway, I like a lot of the groups you're mentioning, except maybe I'm a little less cultured than the rest of you.

Sgtpepper, I LOVE Flight of the Conchords! The first season of the show was great, and of course the music is awesome. I can't wait for the second season.

Karajanhra, I just don't understand. What's not to love about the Beatles?

MSTRKRFT, Diplo, MIA, etc.

Progressive rock, classic rock, some alternative, world music, baroque, and the soundtrack to Lost

Bsicly everything, Rock, Soundtrack to Mary Poppins, some rap, Electronic, Indie, Jazz, Mathcore

I love country but I will listen to almost anything. Not a huge rap fan.

vivelavieboheme and I seem to have much in common when it comes to music. =]
