what nice weather there will be at CPW!

so weather.com is predicting about 40-55F over CPW. Although I'm from Texas, I definitely like the weather a little cold (and rainy) because I enjoy protecting myself from the elements. It sounds strange, but it's fun to combat nature. or maybe I just like to wear water proof jackets.

anways, are there any stores near MIT that ya'll recommend to buy cold weather gear? or is it easier to just order stuff online?

thanks!

ummm ive only been to MIT once.. but i recommend the Coop. Yes the clothes are pricey (45-60$ for a hooded sweatshirt) but a hoodie from there will supply your cold gear and get you into the MIT spirit. And MIT gave us a 10% off coupon. :D

Do you know if it will be sunny/rainy/cloudy/snowing? I've been scouting weather pages but they don't go that far into the week yet.

Most years, Boston weather miraculously gets really nice for CPW -- people say that it's because of the weather machine that MIT keeps tucked away for special occasions. :)

Panasonic, do you mean real cold weather gear? Like ski jackets? Or do you mean spring weather wear?

like ski jackets! do you think they would be on sale this time of the year? I'm assuming 40-55F is not that cold in Boston terms

Haha, okay. I was a little worried.

Ski jackets are probably on sale -- I know there were some huge sales up in Maine when I went skiing last weekend.

There's an REI up in Harvard Square, and an EMS next to the Fenway stop on the Green D line, as well as another near the Prudential Center shopping mall.

niceeee. thanks, I'll be sure to check those stores out! (after the Coop, of course :] )

didya see that snow today? ;D

Maybe the '11's will get lucky and we'll have snow on CPW :D!

Pyrocide: here's what I've been looking at - http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/vacationplanner/monthly/USMA0066?from=tenDay_topnav_vacation

looks like they're predicting rain at the moment. maybe that'll give me a chance to whip out my gore-tex :]

lol...i just looked up boston weather and it said 35 F. Yea so if anyone see a geeky asian kid in like 3 layers of clothes thats me.

Seriously though, i come from texas so basically anything under 65 degrees is cold.

sbc1234, which part of tx are you from? I'm in Dallas

panasonic: i'm from houston...

just wait, just wait I say. The weather machine is ridiculous....

Someone better get busy with that weather thing!

WORKING ON IT

:o.

Looks like the ol' weather machine is off to a slow start. Though the forecast for the next two days is encouraging :D

I just got this e-mail...
