So, I have submitted my Common Application successfully on December 31st, and received an e-mail confirmation telling me that my application had been received and downloaded by Stanford.

Since then (Jan 1st), however, I haven't received any other e-mail about my application status or any address where I could track my documents to see if everything's fine.

My question is: should I expect to hear from them? All universities to which I have applied but Stanford contacted me back to inform about dates and timelines, so that's why I'm inquiring you such doubt.

Wait until the second/third week of February. I read somewhere on the Stanford website that they’ll have sent official confirmation emails by then.

^ I tried to follow your instruction, but when I enter my e-mail adress at the Axess page, I get the following message:

Email Address Not Found (21000,222)

Please contact our office to verify your email address. You may either send an email to credentials@stanford.edu or call 650-723-2091

Hmm, I submitted mine pretty last minute. Axess has been working fine for me though. Then again, I come pretty early in alphabetical order, and there’s a bunch of other reasons you might not be processed.

Check if you’re using the email you put in the Common App. Maybe you’re making a typo or made one way back then.

I also got an “Important” email from Stanford about a week ago which basically stated all communication would be via email. It also had a “must click” link.

I think if the common app says it was downloaded, then you should cut the poor admissions people some slack. Besides, I got an email saying I was missing a credential, but when I called, they had it in the office. Moral of the story: they’re swamped, and their computer system is swamped too.

I would contact the admissions office at this point. I submitted my application January 1 as well, but got the confirmation email about two weeks ago. They’ve already processed all my materials, and I’d be last if they did it alphabetically.
