What now?

Those of us who are going to Tufts... we sent in our confirmation of acceptance to Tufts.... now what? Are we supposed to receive something in the mail now?

Yeah, I was wondering this too. Does anyone know?

Yeah I called to see if they received my deposit. The lady said you should get something in June.

sounds good. yeah i wanna check if they got my deposit too... i'm a little edgy over the reliability of the US postal service

I applied ED, so I got the stuff a while ago, but they sent a letter of confirmation and sporadically I've been receiving mailings from them. Most of the mailings say that more mailings will be coming late May/early June.

damn... i never got a letter of confirmation for my deposit.. (I apllied ED II) I did however get some "are you ready" thing.... what else did you get mjones?... i am still yet to recieve my I-20 form... not sure what is going on...

I never got a receipt for my app (ED II), my acceptance letter, nor my deposit confirmation. I love international mail. :(

But I did email admissions a lot and they sent me the Word documents of my acceptance letter and deposit confirmation. No Tufts seal on them so I don't know if people will take them seriously, but it's better than nothing. Keeping a copy of a bank statement (with the deposit listed) on hand would probably help.

As for I-20 issues, I explained to the Int'l Center that I needed to apply early for an appointment at the US Embassy in my country (students get priority but the waiting list is miles long) so they DHL-ed the form to me awhile back. They're probably still processing yours but just contact them to make sure.

thanks a lot Twilight and Shadow, that was very helpful. I'll give them a call.... which country are you from by the way?

Two days ago, I got a letter confirming my enrollment along with a letter explaining what other mail we will be receiving soon (most of it in June) and a calendar of due dates in the summer and fall/spring activity/vacation dates.

Wah. I didn't get that second letter / calendar. What were the things listed? I just know we're supposed to get health forms soon. Other than that... I know ZIP-a-dee-doo-dah.

I'm especially worried about when we're supposed to pay the tuition bill (will they send us the bill? anyone know?).

Early-mid August-tuition bill

oooh goodie, im gettin all my stuff now. the health form just came in too

Hrm I'm still waiting for that health form. Hopefully it'll arrive this week.

I think they also have it on the health services page (which is finally up again!). I'm pretty sure the online forms are for this year - some of them are headed with "fall 2005" and acknowledge our recent acceptances.

Oh btw, anyone know if we're supposed to get just ONE I-20 form? When my brother applied for a visa a few years back (this was pre-SEVIS) he got two copies (one for the embassy and one student copy). I'm guessing with SEVIS and the whole barcode thing the process is different now... but anyone know for sure?

I think you only get one copy... all my friends have only got a single copy of their I-20's... So i am pretty sure about it

I also got my health form a few days ago. Nothing else. I'm anxious for when they'll start up the Tufts2009 Discussion Forums. Please keep me posted if you see a link to it on the admitted students site because they're pretty cool (at least last year's were).

Tufts sends stuff out later than other schools do...no worries, you'll get everything.

I'd just like take this moment of time to say that I am so excited about going to Tufts. Even if the late/missing mail issues are worrying. :)

Sorry, I must be high on iced tea. :p

right with you twlight and shadow... except the fact that I am not high on iced tea. lol

Hey twilight and shadow:

i called the international center and explained that I needed my I-20 form earlier... they however said that it would be very difficult for them to send it any earlier than two weeks. I then went on trying to convince them that my country has waiting lists... but they said that it was the best that they could do... i guess you got lucky getting ur I-20 early..., although the rude lady on the phone didn't help my matter too much...hahaha.

Hey Rage666, sorry to hear about that and the rude lady. This is why I prefer to email Tufts (or most people for that matter) - I know they're stressed out and I can't handle frustrated people on the phone. :p

Anyway, yeah I guess you'll just have to wait two weeks. Don't worry, the US Embassy guy who gave a talk at my school said that students are given priority since they're working within a time frame.
