As a student from a single-parent home, I often get the feeling that I am the only person ever from one to attend college. I know it's not true, but does anyone have any numbers on this topic? I'm curious to see how many single-parent kids there are in college.

Count me in!

Wooo single parent households REPRESENT!

I’m also in this boat.

Alright, a total of four, heh.

here here here

Right here. You’re in good company, don’t worry.

Count me in.

Hey there!

Didn’t know parents still lived together these days.

In some circles it surely feels that way. Although I do find less people coming from single-parent households in college than in high school…I’m sure there’s a proven statistic somewhere.

About half of all marriages end in divorce (from a statistic I heard some time ago), so you’re definitely not alone.

What I meant was more along the lines of being raised in a single parent home from the start, not necessarily having your parents split later on in your life.

Well what if your father abandoned your family when you were 10 and you never saw him again?

Count me in I was raised by a single parent.

Yea, WuTang, I guess that would count.

Me too!
