What Operating System Do YOU Use?

<p>Hey guys,</p>

<p>Just out of curiosity...do all of you use some sort of Windows operating system on your computer (XP, Vista .etc). I have Vista, but I use Ubuntu 8.04. Do any of you guys use Linux or something other than Windows?</p>

<p>On my personal computer, I use Windows XP. On my work computer, I use Suse Linux.</p>

<p>Desktop that I built 3 years ago and I constantly upgrade: Vista, and Ubuntu.</p>

<p>I save all my documents in an external hard drive so there's no problem accessing documents. I use Ubuntu for everything, including Word processing because I use WINE for Microsoft Office. I use Windows for other applications and games when I don't feel like installing with WINE.</p>

<p>I installed Vista only because some games could only be supported on Windows Vista.</p>

<p>I have great respect for all the Ubuntu users, though. And Vista is terrible.</p>

<p>I use Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit. There is nothing wrong with it at all. Not sure why you guys are bashing it. However, if I wasn't a gamer, I'd definitely go for Ubuntu or a Mac as well.</p>

Windows Vista Home Premium and Arch Linux -> Laptop
Windows XP/2000 -> Virtual machines (typically)</p>

One of the reasons I've refused to spring for a new laptop was all of the Vista horror stories I've heard, though other people say it works fine.</p>

<p>I don't... if I ignore the resource hogging, the ubiquitous allow/deny messages, and the bugs which Microsoft seems to have done nothing about for well over a year.</p>

<p>Vista... I like it over the XP I've used for several years. </p>

<p>Resource hogging is not a problem when you've got a 2.4 Core 2 Duo and 4G RAM on your laptop... :)</p>
