Some interesting ideas here. And a few duds.

i wrote about a feeling i get when i play sports. where it feels like your the only one trying and everyone else around you has given up. but i was tempted to write about drivers who dont use their signals. it makes me so angry.

I wrote about the stereotypical "redneck" image of the poor in WV (where I did a large-scale service project) and how it was no indication of those individuals' true intelligence or spirituality

Deep huh? :)

this is such an old thread..

I wrote about the BCS in college football

I wrote about bandwagon sports fans. Good thing Wake is located in close proximity to UNC :)

The "celebrities endorsing presidential candidates" is a great idea. I shook my head when Huckabee walked up to give his victory speech in Iowa with Chuck Norris by his side.

How I hate when people dont go 100%. Slackers!! ;)

I wrote about how our soceity turns its back on the poor in the inner cities.

If i remember correctly, i wrote about female genocide in darfur.

childhood obesity

Now THAT's a really great topic! Congrats. Whadya say of it?

Thanks! I talked about the parents obligation to teach healthy habits and the long term cost to society if they don't.

Ah,the ultimate victims. Actually, they may be. Too many sittin' around on their behinds, yapping on College Confidential. Go get some exercise, F5! ;) Lest your butt and belly'll be bulging before you're enrolled at WFU.

Thank you Whistle Pig! My acceptance letter came in the mail today! Time to get off my butt and go to school!

I had the hardest time with this essay. i wanted to make it personal...
ummm. for this essay i talked about wasting food.

background info: I work at a restaurant, Panera Bread, & all leftover food always goes to a charity / food bank. But some days the donation ppl dont show. So, we're forced to throw it away. I hate it. All the good food gone to waste.

yea.

I wrote about equality.... in college admissions. They're either going to hate it or love it. I don't really care though, because I'm about 99% sure where I'm going (not Wake). Wake is a great school though that I would attend any day, but it's just too expensive.

MC588 - how funny, my dtr wrote about the same thing (affirm. action); how today we all want to be considered equal, but when it comes to our advantage we play the card. of course she had to write from the other point of view (at least i think that's the one). anyhow, i too told her they will read it and either say, "we want her" or "reject"; but given the opportunity to use that part of the application to express herself, she felt like she had to take the chance and see if this school was a fit for her. good luck to you and all!

i wrote about drunk driving.... i gave them some awesome stats and started it out talking about my two best friends and how their father died infront of their eyes from a stupid selfish drunk driver

I wrote about citizens that do not value their democracy(i.e. dont vote, are not informed, do not get involved)

I wrote about terroists
