So I'm for sure applying to Minnesota and Wisconsin-Madison because of reciprocity, but I need to think of a 3rd and even maybe 4th school to apply too.
I was thinking of applying to a private school, that would give me a good enough scholarship to match the costs of these two schools which is (22k w/ room & board).
I have a 29 ACT composite and a 30 superscore ( some good schools take superscore ).

AP courses - 3.94 UW Gpa
I want to major in finance but I want to work in Actuarial Field.

What private colleges would be good for this and being able to receive good scholarship money?

If you need more info, please ask!

I’d really like some input!

please help me out!

It is going to be very tough to match the tuition of the schools you are considering. You would need a large scholarship or merit aid to come close to the cost of a public university. You have a solid GPA and test scores but there is no way of knowing how that will translate into merit money or if any would be offered. In addition, Actuarial is a very specific major that may not be offered at smaller private universities.

The one school that comes to mind is St. Olaf. It is well known for its Math department and is one of the leaders in producing PhD’s in Statistics. It is expensive and the applicants profile keeps increasing but it may be worth a look. My nephew just passed his acturial exam and he went to a public university in New York. Like I said, your cost and major really guide you to Wisconsin or Minnesota, both very strong public universities. good luck to you!
