What questions to ask at Revisit Day?

For current BS parents and students -- what questions (other than the obvious ones) do you think are important to ask at Revisit Day?

You should ask how they match up the students for double/triple rooms.

I recall there’s a thread about revisit day coming up just a few days ago but can’t find it. Anyone knows about it?

Can you get a list with contact information of the school’s current trustees.

What kind of support is available for study/organizational/time management skills?

Those are good threads, but still not the one I was referring to. The first post of that thread had a list of things to take notes on on the revisit day; and the following post added more items in.

Was it this thread? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/prep-school-admissions/289281-revisit-days.html?highlight=revisit

I’m pulling a couple of other threads up front from my search, so they’re accessible.

Here’s an old thread with some important but tough questions. Some fall into the category of questions you might not want to ask at an interview but you definitely could or should ask during the revisit:

Wow, Periwinkle, thanks! You effectively confused me. I don’t know what I am looking for now. And creative1’s thread does have a list, but it’s a different kind of list.

This is going to sound kind of obvious, but ask the questions that are going to affect your decision.

I spent a lot of time talking to kids on my revist day just asking them if they liked it here, what were their favorite things and what were their least favorite. And I mean, some of them it was pretty obvious that they were just trying to convince me to come, but others were really honest with me. And sometimes things that some people really liked, were things I knew I wouldn’t like. My exeter revist host really liked how serious exeter was, and I didn’t really want a school that took themselves so seriously.

I didn’t really come with too many specific questions, but I came knowing that I was going to talk a lot and listen a lot. Honestly, I think I learned the most about each school by sitting at lunch. Some of the schools forgot I was there, which was bad in that they obviously didn’t care about me but interesting with some of the gossip I learned. Some of the schools were really trying too hard to convince me of things, which turned me off. And some schools were really upfront with me, which was nice.

And then if there’s something you really like or dislike on the first revist, make a note to ask about that on the second revisit. Coming in as a non-freshman I was really interested in seeing what schools did to help ease the transition/integration. I didn’t know interested in that until one of the schools I revisited had a really good program too, but once I noticed that I asked all the schools I went to if they did anything similar or different.

I’m not sure if this makes any sense/helps. but I hope it does somewhat!

I’m prioritizing asking questions about my schedule because of placement tests and such. I guess it kind of depends on your situation really, depending on what sports or classes you want to take.
