Thank you for reading! Please let me know what i can do to make myself a better applicant and if i stand a chance for top schools! Please comment!

Ok people listen up HYSP are reaches for everyone!!! You gave to realize 75% of kids applying have identical everything as you if not better. Now you are qualified but most qualified kids DO NOT GET IN!!! The other schools are low reaches and you’ll be able to get into to one or two probably. Don’t forget safeties. Also try and get SAT 2300+. A concerning thing is none of your extracurriculars point to having a passion in buisness. You should look for buisness clubs, volunteer opportunities and internships to make your self more competitive. Good luck!

The finance things are good though just try some more stuff like that.

You have a shot at the top schools like someone else said but they are reaches for everyone. You should give it a shot to see what happens but don’t expect too much. Admissions are crazy now!

@mco1997 Thank you for your feedback! So you you think i should retake the SAT? this is something ive been ambivalent about since i got the score. Also I agree about the lack of passion which is something ive struggled to show and because its so late in the year there are not alot of opportunities left for me but i am looking! Do you think coursera classes such as financial accounting and corporate finance could help? Also Ive thought about starting a small online business over the summer as well as increasing revenue from my apps.

The SAT is a tossup but a score in the 2300+ would increase your chances. I know many summer programs close admissions in winter\spring but keep looking. Looking back at your post I think if you can’t find anything over the summer in the financial field maybe try to get a summer job. Doesn’t matter where just some work experience. (Cornell actually specifically states they prefer students with job experience) you should also apply to UT Mccombs. If you get into the honors program you’ll have many job opportunities.

@MegaMetalHead Thank you for you feedback! Also I strongly agree with you, admissions are crazy!

@mco1997 Ive actually been looking at UT austin as a semi-safety since i am in state and i figure to be in the top two percent of my class when all is said and done, which gives auto admission to Mccombs. Also i hadnt even thought about working so maybe ill get a small part time job at the local grocery store this summer.

Cool sounds like a great idea. Plus you’ll get some extra cash!
