What reading strategy worked for you?

I’ve been trying out so many strategies for reading but it’s just hard, I always go over 11 minutes on one passage.
Reading is my worst subject and it’s my lowest score (24).
Was anyone on the same boat as me? If so, what worked for you?
Trying to at least get a 30, if not then a 28.

You should only use like at most 8.75 minutes on each passage + its questions.
This is what I did for each passage:
(1) skim read the passage (for less than 2 minutes) and as you go along underline ideas that seem important + scribble key words/ideas you picked up on on the page
(2) read the passage more thoroughly this time and try to actively engage yourself in the passage/story, focusing more on the parts that you underlined (3 to 4 minutes)
(3) do the questions (remaining time)

I got a 35 on the reading section when I took it last April. It’s definitely important to know how to read fast while still being able to process the necessary info in order to answer the questions for this section.

I got a 36 reading in September. What helped me the most was to focus on the first and last sentence of each paragraph, and use those to take away the major themes of the passage while skimming through. After the skim, I read the questions and quickly went back and located the answers.

Also for the dual passage, it really helps to read the first passage, then answer those questions, and then go on to the second, as opposed to reading both passages and then answering all the questions together. But to reiterate what Chrysanthemum14 said, time is of the essence. Be smart with what you focus on. Good luck!
