What SAT 2 to take for Penn??

Hi,

I am considering what SAT 2's to take.
So far i have taken biology.

I am planning on taking math 2 and something else. I am confused on Penn encouraging me to take a Language SAT 2. Any advice?
Also, will taking 2 science and Math 2 mark me as asian? Will they want to see a humanities?

IF you take your language SAT and score well, and end up coming to Penn, you can get out of your language requirement altogether. Check for your language (just google it on the penn website) and what score you need. Ie, I needed a 650 on Latin. It’s just a good thing to be done with-trust me, by the end of senior year (when you’re accepted to penn), you won’t want to be taking SAT IIs.

How does it look to get a mediocre score on a language subject test, but still pass the 650 mark? Like, even if you manage to get that score and get out of the language requirement, a 650 still wouldn’t be regarded as a very high score in terms of admissions to top schools, but would they see it more as a placement test rather than a normal SAT II? Also, does it matter if you do listening or not?

Lol what about chinese?
automatic 800 :)

ill try spanish sat.

Bumpers. 10

If you’re only taking 2 SAT IIs, I wouldn’t recommend doing a language test “just to get it over with” unless it’s something you’re fluent in. You want every bit of that Academic Index you can get imo.

Can i point out that AI is not probably not that widespread anymore?
the Michele book was in 1999 ish. If the book was true, the 2400, 3 800 SAT 2 would almost be guarenteed in at ALL of the ivies as the AI 9’s were supposed to have a “94%” acceptance rate at Dartmouth. Obviously, this is not the case.
A for Admission always claims that the AI 9 can do NO EC and still get in.

My point? the book is probably a little dated.
