I’m currently in the 9th grade, but I know that I should start looking at scholarships early so that I know just about how much it would cost to go to college. Especially considering how costly it is to go to college in South Korea, which is across the world. I’m pretty smart, with a PSAT score of 1290 and a 4.0 GPA for all of 8th and the first semester of 9th grade. Does anyone know any good scholarship programs I should apply for/may get into.
Get ye back to your high school work! There is absolutely no way to know for which scholarships you will qualify in 2024, nor which scholarships will be available at that time.
Being smart doesn’t get you scholarships. For that you need to do well in high school, in sports, or/and have other achievements. You do not get there by spending your time looking for scholarships for which to apply in three years.
Your main focus should be to do your best in your studies and be your best self outside of the classroom as well. That will help you in everything, including in your chances at receiving a scholarship.
BTW, if you are specifically looking at scholarships is South Korea, you would also likely want to check out websites which focus on South Korean websites, rather than a website which mostly focusses on American colleges and overseas colleges in English speaking countries.
Are you a U.S. citizen?
Yes
One of the bigger scholarship gateways for US universities is scoring high enough on the PSAT in 11th grade to make National Merit Semifinalist (most become National Merit Finalists). But that is still a few years away for you, so concentrate on doing well in school.
Oh ok. I’m gonna have to look into that.
