Know any fantastic scholarship?

I signed up with fastweb and all that, but I hear a lot of people say that they're not very helpful.

I also see a lot of threads where parents say "my son/daughter got this/that scholarship!"

How is everyone finding these?

Can I get some advice on this?

Which scholarship's good, ones that give you a lot of money, etc.

Or is everyone getting scholarships that are limited to their accepted schools?

im wondering the same thing !!

Bump... help!

most scholarships listed on fastweb are very competitive. Some unless your stats are stellar, then I'd steer clear. If you tell me your stats and ethnicity, then I may get something for you.

Korean male

GPA: 3.8
SAT I: 1880 (I took it again in June; plan to take it for the last time in October for +2100.)
SAT II: WH (660) (I've got Korean, Japanese, and Math II ready for November. I'm still deciding on biology.)
I've taken a lot of difficult classes. I've got no worry on academics.

ECs:

AP Junior English Honorary Society (11th)
Art Club (9th)
Beta Club (11th ~ present)
Dunbar Cultural Society (11th ~ present)
Key Club (11th ~ present)
Recycling Club (11th ~ present)
Spanish Honor Society (9th ~ 10th)

I've got +300 hours for community service.

I guess these are academic achievements. They don't mean much.

National Honor Roll (11th)
Who’s Who Among American High School Students (9th and 11th)

I'm a member of Executive Board for Key Club (11th). Bastards put me in this after I lost the election for president.

I plan to make two clubs for both leadership and unique appeal.

I've got a good hook so all I need are good scholarships...

What state do you live in?

Kentucky.

This place sucks, guys.

There are too many rednecks and cocky bastards who have rich parents.

ur better off going under some big-name companies and searching for scholarships...

that's how I found coca-cola and toyota scholarships (both valued at 20,000 or 10,000)

you can google a company... for example: best buy scholarships

try it with a few big companies -- wal mart has one, target has one, waldbaums might have one, shop rite (etc. etc.) -- they usually have the big big big bucks

well unless you're ridiculously smart, as someone else said, then you're probably not going to get the big company scholarships. the scholarships people have a real shot at are those that are local (go to your school/community organizations and ask) and those that are through the parents (your parent's company 9/10 times has scholarships). other than that, just search the web for scholarships of your ethnicity and in kentucky, perhaps try to aim for your particular county. and don't lose hope...i applied to 10 scholarships, thought i was getting nothing, and then ended up getting about 2800 so far. the two scholarships i got - local.
