What school supplies should I bring to class?

Well, I'm still not sure what certain supplies should be brought to class. What types of materials do professors at UCSD prefer, especially for math and chemistry classes? Should I bring a notebook (like those 3-5 subject ones) or a separate notebook for each class (lile 4 notebooks for 4 classes)? Or do professors prefer binders with loose-leaf paper inside? Would you consider buying a binder with all classes or a separate binder for each class? Sorry if I'm asking too many questions. I'm just trying my best to be prepared as possible for college. :)

I bought a bunch of pens and one notebook lol...

Professors don't care about you. They won't make 10% of your grade organization and do notebook checks every Friday. Bring whatever materials you think will be helpful. Some people take notes with a pen and spiral notebook, some people type notes on a laptop, some people don't take any notes.

laptop anyone?

it's different for everyone. I tried using laptops, but ultimately notes on a spiral notebook work best for me. I can flip through the notes with ease when studying. Pens pencils and highlighters are definitely a must, of course. A stapler helps.

i much prefer a laptop, but im afraid ill come across as too geeky, or nerdy...

plenty of people use them.

Most people with laptops do not use them to take notes.

why wouldnt u use something like micorosft word to take notes?

Because it's easy to get distracted by the ever so evil wireless internet.

Whoot tenaya has wireless!

No but seriously, doesn't it make sense to do that?

If you have good WPM then yes I guess.

It's difficult to take technical notes on a laptop. Drawing pictures and writing equations is harder than typing a sentence.
