I know UVA has a spring admission... What other big name schools* do this?

*when I say "big name", I mean schools that are competitive for entry. Doesn't necessarily mean it has to be Ivy-caliber and such- it just can't be Southwestern Arkansas State (or any other school that I could walk right into). I'm no snob- just looking for quality.

Cornell, NYU, Colgate, Grinnell, Emory, Lehigh, MIT...I'm really just Googling "spring transfer admission" here, so I suppose you can do that as well as I can. ;)

What I really wanted to note was that some college do not give financial aid to spring admits. Just something to keep in mind. You may want to look at some less expensive colleges if that's a concern.

keep in mind only certain colleges at each school accept spring transfers. for example, Cornell's CALS offers spring admission, whereas CAS, Engineering, etc. do not. make sure you look at each website carefully, because i've heard of people applying as a spring transfer to schools that only accept students in the fall. thats just throwing money down the toilet.

also im pretty sure MIT does not accept spring transfers. they only accept 5-6 transfer students a year. i wouldn't even waste the time even googling that one.

haha, well thats changed since last year. i know for a fact that for years they've only accepted around 6 or so. its good to see they are on the upswing.

hopefully schools like Princeton get the message from M.I.T and others that transfer students are an integral part of the school community and that they need to start offering transfer admissions.

I completely agree about Princeton. My advisor is an alum and is trying to get some former classmates who are also now college professors to start some kind of campaign to get that changed. Even if they only have a handful of openings as people transfer out, there's no reason not to let people apply for them. They can simply choose to not accept people some years if they think they can't accommodate new arrivals.

Haha, you scared me for half of a second... I thought, "oh damn, I tried to come up with the most fake-sounding state school name I could think of, and it ACTUALLY exists. GREAT. " Almost had me.

Vassar, Mount Holyoke, and Smith definitely accept spring transfers. If you are male, completely disregard the last two. Vassar says it usually takes like 5 for the spring though. I'm not sure out of how many.
