Hi everyone. i'm a senior at a top 15 liberal arts college and will be applying to law school next year. i've got a 175 lsat and a 3.35 gpa. i know my gpa is poor but my school is known for grade deflation (a 3.6 is top 8%). i slacked off freshmen year but have picked it up the past couple of years.

i'm a chinese and economics double major and studied abroad in beijing last spring (i received a couple of scholarships to study there as well if that means anything). During the summer i stayed in beijing and had an internship at the trade consulate in the US embassy there. i also worked as a travel journalist for an online travel newspaper and served as their regional manager.

in terms of extracurriculars, i'm involved in a few clubs and am an eagle scout (thought i'd throw that in).

So, considering all that, what law schools should i be looking at?

It has graphs for all of the top law schools. You're GPA is kind of low to the top top law schools, I don't know if they'll factor in deflation. However, you have an awesome LSAT score which should give you a shot at a T14.

Reaches are NYU/Columbia. I don't think HYS are going to take you with that GPA, though it may be worth a shot. With your LSAT, you're good to apply to the rest of the T14. You can use an admissions calculator to see where you stand. Berkeley, Stanford, Yale, Harvard all give a significant amount of weight to the GPA, so regardless of your ranking they're going to see a GPA that's well below their 25th percentile and will show up on the records as such, thus contributing to a possible fall in the rankings. Your 175 is your saving grace (above the 75th percentile) at nearly every school.
