I’ve taken every honors or ap class I could possibly take throughout high school (school doesn’t give honors credit to freshman and honors credits are barely weighted anyway) but my gpa is subpar for any legitimately competitive university. Given the strengths and weaknesses of my application, what schools are a good match?
Intended major? Finances? Preferences?
As of now, I’m undecided on my major but leaning towards biology or chemistry. Finances are not an issue. As for preference, I have none really, just the best school I can get into
How much can your parents pay? Will you qualify for financial aid or do you need a merit scholarship. Also, do you want a small or large school? What part of the country? Give more of your wants. You have a great ACT. You probably know your chances at the super elite schools but you can get into a lot of quality schools. What is your home state?
Home state is Illinois. I will not qualify for financial aid, but my parents are willing to help me pay for whatever school I choose. I have 8-10 relatives that attended WashU in St. Louis and my brother currently attends there, will that help my admission chances?
yes that could help but you might want to apply ED
Good schools to apply to with stats like these are probably LACs or large public schools that are very balanced in their educational styles. Such schools include WashU, UIUC, Grinell College, Bucknell, Rice, and Colby College.
