What schools are best for automotive?

What colleges are best for a degree in automotive mechanics? Im not really looking for any kind of engineering exactly. Like no creating cars, just fix em.

Check these out:

[Automotive Service Technology Ferris State University](Automotive Service Program Ferris State University in Big Rapids Michigan)

http://www.hfcc.edu/programs/ASSETProgram.asp

Maybe Lincoln Tech?
[Automotive Schools | Automotive Training from Lincoln](Automotive)
Or try your local community college.

But why do you want to go to college at all for automotive mechanics?
Why not just get a job at a quick oil change place and work your way up?
At some point you can take some business courses if you think you’d like to own and operate your own shop.

I know a young man who went to CC for auto mechanics, got interested in the theory courses, and raised his sights. He eventually transferred to a 4 year automotive engineering course. I doubt that would have happened had he been working his way up at Jiffy Lube.
