Hi,
What schools can or will match princeton's financial aid package?
Does anyone have past experiences? Or stories?

If you got a fabulous finaid package from Princeton, why would you be wanting ANOTHER school to match it? But having said that...some schools will not do anything to match finaid awards from anywhere...they simply will not discuss their finaid awards. Perhaps (and I mean perhaps) if you found a school with a similar endowment, similar financial resources, a similar applicant pool, similar annual yield, similar student body admits, similar cost, similar demographics all the way around, they MIGHT consider matching...but I seriously doubt it. Princeton has one of the most valuable endowments out there. They do not include loans in packages for students under a certain income level (not every school has that policy and would therefore NOT match that part of the deal). For the life of me, I can't understand why you're asking this question.

haha.. I don't think your matching proposal is going to fly. I mean if you don't like your other financial aid awards they are just going to accept you rejection of their school and take someone off of their waitlist. One thing that you have to understand about Princeton is that they are one of the richest ivy league universities. Like Harvard, they have about enough money to give each student $1 million...I know this because I work with programs to raise the endowment of UPENN.

I agree- Princeton is a great school-

If you are asking what schools will make the offer of giving all grants and no loans, like Princeton- that is pretty funny- how many schools outside Ivies have an endowment comparable to 6 figures(5?) for each student?

Probably none, Princeton is unique in no loans for the lower income..

haha colleges aren't like Staples. =p

And thus we conclude that Princeton is the best. ;-)

I think Princeton eliminates loans for all students with financial need, not just for those with lower income or under a certain income level.

Princeton does eliminate loans from its need based FA packaging. In addition it is one of the few schools that does not count home equity in equating the EFC.

In looking at other posts, the OP was hoping to use Princeton's finaid as leverage with Stanford and Yale. Princeton apparently does not have the major he/she would like to pursue. Anyway short answer...IMHO neither Stanford nor Yale will give two hoots about Princeton's finaid package.
