What schools could I apply to with these stats

1 year (30 credits) done at local CC
30 ACT
2200 SAT I
NJ Res.
2.0 HS GPA cumulative

How’s your GPA at CC?

If I was a college admissions officer ,I could definitely see that you did not try at all in high school with such high college board scores. Dependent on how high your GPA is at CC, I believe you should do one more year and get your AA and then apply to some top schools like even ivy-leagues as they love students like you who did not try hard in high school but want a second chance.

4.0 at the CC =)

What About ECs?

Any Research Experience?

Can You Get good Letters of Rec?

You are academically pretty awesome applicant.

What are you majoring?

good LOR’s=yes
EC’s=volunteer work
no research exp.

What are you majoring in?

BruinsJew, you mean to say that great schools look for students who failed in high school and had a turn around situation?

2 imfrickenfoofy
There is a whole thread about that.

would you happen to know where I could find it?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/465387-success-stories-bad-hs-record-w-great-college-record.html

Yes, colleges love to see who kids who “found themselves” and have the potential to succeed at their university as displayed by their performance in CC. And depending on the state you’re from, usually the CC have commitments with the large, public state universities that basically guarantees you a spot in one of their university ;Florida, California, Virginia, North Carolina are some of the states that offer this. I have a few friends who went to CC and got perfect or almost perfect (3.96) GPAs at CC and have been accepted and will be starting the University of Florida.

And you have another advtg., your SAT scores are extremely high so you have a very high chance for top schools, dependent on your major, like Cornell, Northwestern, Emory, WashU-St. Louis, Vanderbilt and the list goes on.
