Wow..my resume looks so poor compared to other brilliant students in College Confidentials..
But still, I should do my best

What do you think are my safety/match/reach scools~~?

Thank you for reading

Do not make the mistake of thinking that the students here are typical. In fact, I’m not sure that everything you read here is even accurate. In the real world, you have a very good-looking record.

Hi,

You have very good stats! :)

What will your likely major be? Chemistry? Pre-med? Engineering? What?

Can you pay full-freight?

Are you looking for a big school? small school? quiet school? rah rah school? warm weather? snow?

I want to study Education, particularly English education.
That is why my EC’s and volunteer work are involved with English…

Big/Small/Quiet/… doesnt’ really matter to me…haha…

I just want to know what schools are safety/match/reach for me…considering that
I can pay full-freight…

Thanks :)

Hello there.

If you really can pay full-freight, the public schools can be the best for you. There are great public schools which are highly respected globally and nationally. They are:

UC-Berkeley

UC-Los Angeles

UM-Ann Arbor

UW-Madison

UT-Austin

UW-Seattle

Ohio State University

Michigan State University

UM-Twin Cities

UNC-Chapel Hill

If you’re looking for good private universities, Vanderbilt University is ranked No.1 for Education.

Feel free to ask any questions you have.

Best of Luck!

Thank you very much for your reply.

What do you think then are good schools for me when I really dont have
any ‘Education major’ in mind?

If you’re in the top 10 in your class/batch, Stanford, Berkeley and Caltech.

As it stands, you’re a good candidate for UCSD, UCLA, USC, Mudd and CMC.

Notice that I only recommended California schools. It’s because California is a wonderful state. If you don’t mind attending a Midwest school, the following are your best bet: Northwestern, Chicago, Michigan and UIUC.

I guess it’s better to ask what kind of environment you prefer? Since you have exceptional stats, you should have a good chance at anywhere you apply.

Do you like the feel of liberal arts colleges, large research universities, etc? Are there certain opportunities you are looking for in your college experience? Do you care about an environment that’s located in either the cities, suburbs, or the rural/countryside?

These are questions I personally have asked myself, so it could be good for you to consider.

Wow…thanks very much guys…:)

How about Brown? Boston University is good for education, and they give merit aid as well. I agree that Chicago is a good choice. You may have a chance at the Ivy League schools. Not many people apply with an interest in education, and that will make you stand out.

^

Brown gives merit aid? For what level of stats?
