I'm not sure but if given the choice, I could possibly turn down Harvard for:

UChicago, Pomona, Yale, Stanford, Cambridge, Oxford.

Just curious as to how Harvard actually compares with other schools in people'e choices.

I would turn down Harvard…only because I didn’t apply there haha. I’m thinkin’ about Harvard for grad school, though.

First off, I won’t be getting lucky enough to make this choice, but if I had to, I would turn down Harvard for Stanford, UChicago (if I get aid) and maybe Colgate and Columbia as well…

If I applied and got lucky enough to be able to make this decision, I would turn it down for UChicago because it’s closer to where I live. If I had applied to Ivies, I’d prob turn it down for either Brown or Dartmouth because (Dartmouth) puts the most emphasis on undergrad education. Brown is just free-spirited…I just got another thread idea haha!!

Princeton!

If UChicago’d given me any merit money, I might well have turned down Harvard for it. It’s probably good that they didn’t, though, because that would have been very much the wrong decision for me. UChicago is a whole lot like my high school; Harvard isn’t, so I’ve grown a lot more already than I would have in four more years of the same.

This isn’t exactly what you asked, but I considered Stanford very, very carefully. I wanted two lives so I could try both.

Maybe Yale, but a HUGE maybe. I am getting more and more inclined to Harvard lately.
Honestly, if I have to face this dilemma (which I doubt), I will be thinking about it 99% of the time… :D

UT Austin, MIT, Michigan, GT
Harvard is not very good for engineering…

Stanford or whichever I felt better vibes at while visiting!

I know for sure I’d pick Yale over Harvard… And I’d have to go see Stanford to see which one I liked better. In all honesty I am 99.9999% sure I will not get to make this decision, and I’m not even sure if I would want this decision.

^if you are a swimmer, I sure wouldn’t turn Harvard down for Yale. No way.

n/a

I would choose harvard, but I can’t get too attached, amiright.

^^etondad
I’m not swimming the varsity level in college haha

Princeton! My sister did. Here is how I would choose:

There’s a less than 1% chance I’ll ever have the chance to make this decision.
However, hypothetically, I’d most probably turn it down for Yale.

I will probably never be fortunate enough to have the choice, but I could possibly turn Harvard down for Michigan or Duke.

I might have turned it down for aid with UChicago, but I already committed sooooooo :)

shootastar, I agree that I would definitely chose Oxford over Harvard, but alas the brits rejected me and I have to wait in anxious anticipation for a few more weeks for ivy league decisions to come out. And actually, I like Yale better than Harvard.

UVa or Cornell:)
