What schools should I be looking at?

hey guys, im an international student from the middle east
im an asian-canadian, so I do have the benefits of aid at schools like upenn, columbia, and cornell

GPA: 3.93

Rank: top 4%

SAT: 1st try: 460 R, 760 M, 610 W = 1830
2nd try: 680 R, 640M, 780 W = 2100
Superscore: 2220

SAT2: Math2: 790
Taking physics in November

APs: Microeconomics (5), Macroeconomics (4), Statistics (5)
Next year: Calculus AB, Physics B, Chemistry

ECs: Cricket captain (6 years club, 2 years international); 1st place regionally. 2nd place internationally

Please tell me what schools I should aim for!

um. anyone?

I would look at the top 25 universities, though the ivys are gonna be a reach

I would look at top 20 LAC. Not sure you have a shot at the Ivy league.

Do you want to play Cricket in College? That may limit where you can go.

You have a good profile. What kind of school do you want to go to. There are many great schools. Some large, some small. Help us narrow the list for you.

yeah aim for top 20=)
but since you have Upenn columbia cornell already… what will you major in? solid career plan might help you a lot in college selection.
by the way, how did you do that? CR from 460 to 680, W from 610 to 780? that was amazing!

i agree…coming from a 460 to a 680 is great.

well, i have already applied early decision to upenn cas
i am yet to take my physics subject test, which i will take on the 7th of november
i was thinking of the ivy league, stanford, mit, top lacs?

i WILL apply for financial aid, but that won’t affect my decision at any top schools except like brown and stanford (since in canadian)

i don’t desperately want to go to a college where cricket is offered, because requesting to start up a club is always an option

What happened with your SAT math, a 760 to 640?!??!?!?

Regardless, I think you are competitive at all of these schools. The ivies will be a reach as they are for everyone.

Chance back?

anyone else? any specific universities?

Erms besides those you have listed, have a look at: U Michigan (ann arbour), Duke, Georgetown, UCLA, NYU amongst others.

let me add in that i will be looking for aid
so ivys, amherst, williams are pretty much on my list

do i have a real shot at ANY of them?
btw, as i stated previously, i have already applied to penn cas ed. how do my chances look for that?

You have a great chance at top 20 universities and LAC’s.

Being canadian will surely help you.

I have one question. How did you raise that CR score? :D

Feel free to ask any questions you have.

i raised it with the help of the blue book’s practice tests and the amazing prep threads on CC… couldn’t have done it without either of them
i did eight tests in 2 months, reviewed each test for my mistakes, and made sure i wouldn’t make the same mistakes again.

anyone else please?

can anyone else please help me here? :(

what colleges DO YOU want to go to in general?

top 20 universities.
Check the policies on Financial aid because that might screw you over.
Chance Back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/802410-chance-elite-schools-elite-student-will-chance-back.html

well I personally would like to go to an ivy/stanford/mit

do i have any realistic chance for any?

Well ivys are of course are gonna be reaches to anybody but I would apply.
Apply for some of the UC’s and UVA you have a good chance at these.

bump… anyone?

You are competing against a lot of really strong applicants from the international pool with much stronger scores and ECs. I would say Ivies/Stanford/MIT/Top LACs are all reaches.
You might want to apply to some lower-tier schools just so you know you have some back ups
