what science classes do people take at their school

<p>9- Institute Biology and CHemistry
10- Instititute Physics and AP biology
11- AP chemistry
12- AP Physics</p>

<p>my school has honors, but Institute is a program above that, a test needed to get into. u can only do wat i posted if u made the Science institute, theres also (humanities... psh)</p>

<p>I'm taking...</p>

<p>9 - Honors Bio
10 - Honors Chem
11 - Honors Physics, AP Psych
12 - AP Bio</p>

<p>normal path:
9th - physical science
10th - bio I
11th- chemistry
12th - human anatomy or environmental science or physics honors</p>

<p>me:
9th - bioI
10th - chemistry
11th - human anatomy
12th- environmental science</p>

<p>NOTE: bio ap is a period and a half at my school making it VERY difficult to schedule (so i would have to give up another AP i actually want to take in order to take bio ap), chem ap is also a period and a half (but you don't take that unless you really want to), physics ap was a bit of disaster this year (no real teacher), and physics honors (it's the teacher's own brand of physics)</p>

<p>9th: H Physical Science - 1 semester, H Biology - 1 year (both required)
10th: H Chemistry - 1 year, Astronomy - 1 quarter, IB1 Physics - 1 year (chem and astro required)
11th: IB1 Chemistry, IB1 Biology, IB2 Physics - testing SL this year for my diploma, HL next year for an extra certificate (all science classes 1 year long)
12th: IB2 Chemistry, IB2 Biology (probably both HL)</p>

<p>For jr and sr year, only one IB science class is required.</p>

<p>9th: bio
10th: chemistry, physics 1
11th: either chem, bio, environmental systems or physics II (i took IB physics HL)
12th: (see above) at level III</p>

<p>9th earth sci/phys sci
10th bio/ chem
11th enviro/ anatomy & phys
12th AP enviro/ AP chem</p>

<p>me:
9th - bio H
10th - chem H
11th - physics H
12th - (tentative) anatomy H (1 sem), physiology H (1 sem), botany (1 year)</p>

<p>I signed up for AP chem but not enough kids signed up so they scrapped the class. Even chem II H was scrapped. Physics AP is not offered and Physics II H is an online class. Another science class offered in my school is Forensic Science. I'd take that class if I could fit it in my schedule. :(</p>

<p>AP bio - not offered
Genetics - scrapped, not enough students signed up.</p>

<p>9th: intro to physics (I think it's called physical science now)/biology
10th: biology/chemistry
11th: chemistry/physics/ap chemistry/ap biology/ap physics/systems of the earth
12th: all the aps</p>

<p>Our school is adding AP enviro. next year. I'm kind of disappointed we don't have an anatomy or physiology class, though (and I don't even like science that much..)</p>

<p>9th-General Science and Bio for the upper track
10th-Bio or Chem
11th-Chem or AP Chem
12th-Physics or AP Physics</p>

<p>Then if you go to our half day county tech school you take Gen Science, skip 10th, Bio in 11th, and Physical Science 12th....lame</p>

<p>9th : Honors Biology
10th : AP Biology / Honors Chem
11th : AP Chem
12th : Honors Physics</p>

<p>I think generally it's this, but there's a lot of ifs and flexability in our program:
9th grade:
*-Biology
-Chemistry IF you are recommended and had good middle school grades
-None, science is optional 9th grade
10th grade:
*-Chemistry or Physics
-Biology IF you didn't take science previously
-AP Chemistry IF you took Chemistry 9th grade
-AP Biology IF you took summer school at some point
11th grade:
*-Chemistry or Physics (whichever one you haven't taken)
-AP Biology, Chemistry, Physics
12th grade:
-None, IF you're done with grad. requirements
-Chemistry or Physics IF you started late.
-AP Biology, Chemistry, Physics.</p>

<p>I am doing:
9th: Biology
10th: Chemistry and Physics
11th: AP Physics*
12th: AP Biology</p>

<p>You're allowed to take 2 science courses in a year if your schedule will allow it. Very very few people take 2 AP sciences in a year, but a lot of people in 1 AP science class take another normal science class (ex: AP Bio and Physics, or AP Physics and Bio).</p>

<p>I took/ or will be taking
8th: Physical Science Honors
9th: Biology Honors
10th: Chem Honors, AP Env Sci
11th: Physics honors, AP Bio, Zoology honors
12th: Anatomy and physiology H</p>

<p>9th: Honors or College Biology
10th: Honors, College (even though it would be an honors course in other high schools, or Intro Chemistry
11th: Honors, College, Intro Physics
12th: AP Biology, AP Chemisty, or AP Physics</p>

<p>9th: Honors Bio
10th: Honors Chem/AP Bio
11th: Honors physics/AP Chem
12th: AP Chem/physics/bio</p>

<p>9th: hon biology (hated it)
10th: hon chemistry (much better)
11th: ap chemistry+ ap physics b (along with ap calc bc= uber fun)
12th: ap physics c (the only real science left)</p>

<p>that is different at my school we have to take all science before we take any AP class from now on</p>

<p>Normal People take:
9th - Earth Space Science
10th - Biology
11th - Chemistry or Physical Science
12th - Not required or Any</p>

<p>Accelerated people take:
8th - Earth Space Science (transfer credit)
9th - Biology
10th - Chemistry
11th - Any
12th - Any</p>

<p>9: Bio (H)
10: Chem (H)
11: Physics (AP-B/SL) OR Environmental (AP/SL) OR Nothing
12: Bio (AP/HL) OR Chem (AP/HL)</p>

<p>This is "normal", though taking environmental in 10th or 12th is fairly common, and I know people who have don'e Physics in 10th, and other strange stuff.</p>

<p>ours is:
9th and 10th: At least one of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics (Pre-IB)
11th and 12th: Either one or two of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics (HL/SL)</p>

<p>I did,
9th and 10th: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
11th and 12th Chemistry HL, and Physics HL</p>

<p>for all those in IB what is thw SL, HL, and any other IB type class.</p>
