<p>Phew!: My friend is a native American who has never visited Taiwan nor China. Her only Chinese exposure is 4 years of learning Chinese at a high school and the local community college. I guess those 4 years (started in 7th grade) factors into the score, but I'd say it's definately possible for a non-heritage, non-native student to earn an 800 on a foreign language SAT II. It just takes a whole lot of work.</p>
<p>I agree on the point that to make the test more "fair," there should be split scores for native and non-native speakers but it will never be possible to fairly separate the native speakers from the non-native speakers.</p>
<p>yeh but u should have a choice to do a higher level of test...to show the college that you have a higher proficiency...just like how in maths there are two levels. Chinese SAT is only offered once a year...i'm sure they can fit a different level in a different testing date!</p>
