This has really been worrying me, I would love some peace of mind. I was wondering what semester do most people apply for Fall. Most of the schools I want to apply for Fall have this Nov 30 deadline but Nov 30 is during Fall semester. So I made a educational plan and I will finish community college in Spring 2015 and I want to get into UCLA ( just one of the schools I want to apply to, just using it as an example) for the Fall semester, so when I apply for the Fall semester during the Nov 30 deadline will I get accepted for Fall 2015 or Fall 2016, which Fall 2016 would be a year and half wait to get in?

I’m graduating from my CC in May and want to transfer for fall 2013. The colleges I applied to had Feb/March deadlines for fall 2013.
I think November deadlines are usually for the spring semester.

^Agree that many schools have late winter/early spring deadlines for the following fall, but as usual, UCs are different:

Just to confirm about UCs (and some CSUs), I applied to them in November 2012, so that I could transfer in Fall 2013 (August-September).

I’m currently finishing up my final, Spring semester at CC–though this is kind of an “extra” semester for me because all my pre-reqs are done and I already have my AA.

EDIT: To make things clear for you, if you want to attend UCLA in Fall 2015, you should apply in November 2014.

Thanks for the replies, really helped.
Also lets say I do apply in November 2014 and at that time I will still be in my Fall Semester but I won’t have my pre reqs done, but in Spring of 2015 I will be done and be ready for transfer for Fall 2015. Would they accept me? Say I finish my pre reqs in spring 2015?

When you fill out the application, you will list your current and projected coursework for the rest of the academic year. Colleges accept you based on the assumption that you will pass the classes you list in a satisfactory manner. If you change your schedule you notify them; and at the end of the school year you are required to send them a final transcript, at that time they can rescind your admission if you have not made adequate progress.

I understand now, that really helped and I finally have a clear mind. Thank you.

You’re welcome, best of luck!

Yes you would apply Fall 15(Nov), and attend Fall 16(in Sept). In your application you will fill in all the classes that you took, and all the classes that you will take. So if your prereqs are not finished, the schools will see that you plan to finish them.
