What should I do? (for prospective science/engineering concentrators)

I have a problem.

For the Part I of the application, I chose Sc.B in Chemistry as the program of primary interest. And I chose A.B. in economics as my second choice.

I chose chemistry because I, quite recently, began to develop a new interest in the field. So I finished all my additional essays for the prospective science/engineering concentrators, writing about this newly developed interest.

But when I was taking another look at the application instruction for Brown, it said, “prospective science or engineering concentrators should have taken both physics and chemistry.”
And the problem is that, while I have strong chemistry background, I have no physics background (for personal, and somewhat legitimate reasons).

So the question is
Will my chance of admission become lower just because I indicated - and wrote three additional essays about - this new interest of mine, while not having the recommended background?

I could have easily - and for perfectly acceptable reasons - chosen “undecided” (I am interested in many other academic areas) and not have this problem…

Any advice/opinion will be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Can somebody please help me??? T.T

1) Who knows? Probably not, but none of us sit in the room with the admissions officers.

2) Why worry? The app is in, the rest is out of your hands. Enjoy the next few months! It's senior year, get off the net and stop worrying about college now and go live a little. In a few months, for better or worse, it'll all be over.

I would either talk to your guidance counselor about this, or call admissions yourself. None of us are in the position to give you the right answer.
