I've got admitted to CoE as Spring students in UCB.

I've submitted the SIR (deferred the fee), completed the SLR.
I also sent the reservation form and fee for the FPF

So, what should I do next? When do I apply the housing?

In the CalSO, there are two different date depend on whether you're FPF student or Spring (non FPF). As right now, I haven't heard anything back from FPF, should I wait until I know whether I'm able to enroll FPF before register for the CalSO ?

For an engineering student, it would be better to attend a semester system community college rather than FPF. Engineering students usually need to get started on chemistry and/or physics in the first semester to avoid being delayed graduation. FPF does not offer the needed chemistry and/or physics courses. See http://www.assist.org to check community college course equivalencies with Berkeley courses for your major.

If you do decide to attend FPF, you’ll want to take a Math course (1A or 1B, depending on [AP Calculus credit](http://math.berkeley.edu/courses_AP.html)) unless you have a 5 on the AP Calculus BC test (which gets you out of Math 1A and 1B; FPF does not offer any higher math courses like Math 53 and 54 that engineering students need to take).

For the rest of the courses, consult the [College of Engineering’s Humanities and Social Studies Requirement](Humanities and Social Sciences - Berkeley Engineering) and the [FPF course offerings](http://extension.berkeley.edu/fpf/coursesched.html).

If you do not have a 4 on AP English, it would be desirable to take English R1A or Rhetoric R1A for the first Reading and Composition course (or College Writing R1A if you have not fulfilled the Entry Level Writing Requirement). If you do have a 4 or 5 on AP English, then it would be desirable to take English R1B or Rhetoric R1B for the second Reading and Composition course.

Fill in the rest of your schedule (total of four courses for 15 or 16 units) with those which satisfy the humanities and social studies requirement. Include an American Cultures course (usually suffixed with AC) for that requirement. If you did not satisfy the American History and Institutions requirement with high school courses, include History 7B(AC) (also an American Cultures course) for the history part of that requirement. Also, since the humanities and social studies requirement requires a series, choose courses that you may be interested in taking more advanced courses in later.
