So I got accepted into UC Santa Cruz which is nice but I got rejected from UCLA which is my dream school. I'm hoping to get into med school and I really wanted to go to UCLA because of its reputation. I'm wondering if I should attend UCSC for 4 years and then go to med school or should I attend a community college and then transfer to UCLA after two years. Which option do you think will increase my chances of getting into med school? I know that UCLA is a more prestigious school but I really don't want to miss out on those first two years of dorm life. What should I do? Thanks.

Why not go to UCSC and see how you feel and then you could transfer to UCLA if you don’t like it. Med School is mainly GPA and MCAT so prestige is not a priority. Also, UCLA will probably be a lot more competitive for premed students

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking of doing that but I know that it will be really hard to transfer from a UC to another UC. Community college transfers are always given priority.
