Hi again. I'm in a bit of a dilemma, and I was wondering if anyone could help me out.

I recently registered for the October 2007 SAT Test, but now I'm seriously considering the option of changing the date to November 3rd. I don't know why; I just feel like 3 months of prep is not enough for me. I got a 1550 the first time I took the SAT in June (W: 580 M: 510 CR: 460), and I'm trying to aim for a score of 2100+ in the fall.

However..one problem I have is that I want to squeeze some time to retake my SAT II Subject tests in the fall as well (I took them in my sophomore year - but sadly didn't know how to study at the time - I wasted my studying time by memorizing things from my school textbook rather than doing practice questions - and I earned scores that literally made my jaw drop in dissapointment: Biology M: 490, World History: 470 and English: 420). I was going to take the SAT I again in October and two SAT IIs in November. However, I was supposed to start studying for the SATs again after my scores came out (on Monday June 24th actually), but I guess I got tired and lazy and I wound up starting my SAT prep today. (I'm not sure if any of you started prepping in June or earlier, but if you did, then lucky you!). If I take the SAT I again in November, then I'll hardly have any time to take my SAT IIs again, and I'll end up sending my horrid ones to several colleges.

Another problem is college application deadlines. I'm going to apply for Rutgers University and Princeton (though I doubt I'll get in, but I'll try as best as I can to make my application "flashy" for them. XP), and several others. I know that Rutgers want SAT scores by December and (even though they don't require them), my SAT II scores are going to be sent to them along with my SAT I scores. Princeton want the scores by March, I know for a fact, but I'm unsure if they mean SAT scores as of those who will apply in the fall of 2008 or those who will be applying THIS fall (2007). PLUS I have to check in with them about their application deadlines, financial aid deadlines, and other stuff. So I'm worried that if take the test late, I'll miss the deadlines and I'll end up going to college one year late!

Agh! What should I do?! Please, someone help me before I explode! >_<

I would still take the Reasoning Test in October and Subject Tests in November. I dont think you could stick with your current Subject Test scores. Just make sure you stay on course and dont slip again between now and October and im sure you will be fine. Dont listen to anewkid, definently apply to Princeton, you have nothing to lose.

Oh, alright..I guess that's the best thing to do in the end.

I'm just a bit paranoid right now because when I started prepping for the first time I felt motivated and confident AND it was during the school year. I had 109 days until my SAT exam (I think?) since the first day I started prepping.

Now I'm just too lazy and tired to start studying again, because I don't want to go through the same procedure all over again. I think I'm lacking in self-motivation, and it's harder to study since it's in the summer, AND I have 95 days until my second SAT, whereas I had 109 the first time around.

I don't know - I'm just in a paranoia frenzy whenever I have to deal with my SAT issues.

I guess I'm just worried that, when I go back to do Math practice questions, I'll find that I've forgotten everything I've learned and improved in - making me start my Math review over from scratch instead of from a higher level standpoint. :|

Garden, don't worry, it's just the SAT. Sure it's important in college admissions, but it's definitely possible for you to get a 2100, and even higher in less than 95 days. The key is will-power. If you really want this score, along with the SAT II scores, make sure you set sometime aside everyday (1-2 hours) and FORCE yourself to study each day. If you need some assistance, PM me and I'll be sure to answer any questions you have if your stuck on a question, or if you'd like to exchange ideas. I can relate to you; you feel helpless with the scores you've gotten in the past and it really makes it difficult to have confidence. TRUST ME, you can do it, I garuntee it. To make yourself more motivated, think about how good you'll be feeling in Oct. when you get your score back and you see a 2100 or possibly even higher, and 700+ on SAT II's. Stick with it, and you've got it for sure. Oh and don't forget to message me if you'd like. Good luck:)

Thank you so much for the motivation and advice. I feel a lot better now.

You're absolutely right. If I got an average score of 1550 the first time around, then I can definitely gain a 2100+ the second time. I just have to focus, study hard (and well!), and remain positive throughout the summer. :)

I'll pretend I've already gotten that 2100, haha. :D I can do this.

Thank you once again. I'll be sure to PM you anytime I need anything.
