what should incoming freshman engineers do to prepare?

title says it all.

Rest up! Enjoy your summer. :)

Relax, hang out with friends, spend time with your family, work at a summer job, go to a bunch of baseball games… do whatever you enjoy. Studying is a waste of time, quite frankly, the amount of time you would need to make it worth it is just ridiculous. Just enjoy it, because it may be the last “free” summer you have.

Maybe the best thing to do is establish a habit of working out/exercising so that it won’t be hard to keep it up in college and you don’t put on the “freshman 15” like so many others do. That would pay dividends in your future and would require a fraction of the time that studying would with a greater overall benefit.

Have fun and hang out outside as much as possible.

ok do nothing?

yeah, I’m getting a job and just having fun myself

What else would you do?

estudiar in mi casa?

No haga eso.

You could study I guess but you’ll be doing plenty of that for the next 4 or so years, so just relax.

You could take some classes at a CC over the summer if you want.

Develop a tolerance for alcohol. Make sure your bank doesn’t have a tough overdraft policy. Invest heavily in Ramen.

AMT, you have been in top form the past two days. To what do we owe the pleasure? Your cynicism has risen sharply.

Just graduated.

Haha, well congrats! So are you done for good? Was it an M.S. or Ph.D. (I can’t remember)?

BS, actually. I’m just starting my “make up my mind Master’s” in the Fall.

Well shoot, here I thought you were already in the graduate program… Maybe I was thinking of someone else whose name escapes me at the moment. At any rate, good luck with the “make up your mind Master’s” in the Fall. I am (understandably) a proponent of the Ph.D.
