What should major in if I want to be a pharmacist?

<p>MSU doesnt have a pharmacy major but I also heard that you can major in whatever you want. So whats a good major? They do have a pharmacology/toxicology major.</p>

<p>You can major in Pharmacy at University of Cincinnati, which has a strong program. Check them out.</p>

<p>Michigan state. Hasnt anyone here heard of the Big 10? I dont want to go to Wayne state either because its in detroit. Id go to ferris before wayne. So does my major really matter?</p>

<p>My grandmother went to Ferris. She was a pharmacist.</p>

<p>Something in the sciences, or pharmacology if it's offered. You could even--gasp--do something in the humanities if you were on a pre-medical advisiing track.</p>

<p>I just checked out Cincinnati's requirements. They have a two year pre-pharmacy program and then you enter their pharmacy program. Be advised that they have a VERY well regarded pharmacy school. I don't know much about other Pharmacy schools,but the median college GPA for the first two years for admitted students was over 3.5. They had a 22% acceptance rate.</p>

<p>They also have a Phd program in Pharmacy. I didn't know that you could get a Doctorate in Pharmacy.</p>

<p>Puppetz, I'm not in the sciences, but I would check MSU's Medical Technology program. I've known of MT majors going into a range of related fields: from physicians to dentists to RNs. I'm sure some go on to pharmacy school. Since you want to attend MSU (and who could blame you, of course), I'd check out MSU's MedTech program.</p>
