<p>I loved making miniatures and scale models growing up, and here is what I considered studying at the time:</p>
<p>Industrial design - a lot of designing and prototyping of every day objects, working with hands
Architecture - truly I only wanted to get into architecture to build those cool scale buildings used for presentation and visualization =)</p>
<p>Here are some other majors/fields to consider:
Stage/theater design, Costume design, Automotive design, Sculpture, Puppetry</p>

I used to want to work in special effects model shops, like ILM. Even though the model shop is now spun off, they still build practical miniatures for movies, such as the Pirates in which a few fully detailed scale tall ships were built. And now there’s Weta Workshop as well in NZ.
Your career path will depend on if you’re interested in working for a company doing something like architectural, industrial or fashion design, or if you are more interested in self employment doing sculptural/jewelry design, etc.</p>
