So I have two teachers and a counselor.
I've heard that you should give them your transcript and even test scores.
I was planning on giving them my transcript and a letter about my ECs and what I want to do in college.
Is there anything else that might help them write a better recommendation?

My teacher gave me a sheet to fill out. The sheet asked me questions about my life, future goals, styles and more. The sheet also asked for the number and name of the colleges I was applying to and personal contact information.

Here is a sample of the questions my teacher asked for:

1: What are my interests?

2: What are my strengths/weaknesses?

3: What do you look for in a university?

4: What are your philosophical beliefs about life?

5: What is one word that describes you as a person or your personality?

The above is good and I would include a resume as well. List all awards, EC’s, test scores, etc. You can use a cover letter to round everything out so the teacher has all or information close at hand. Tell them why you think you are a good fit at the university you are applying to. Make it as easy as possible for them.

The resume part was also asked by my teacher. Man I can’t believe its almost been a year since I went through that stressful college application process.

Provide a manila envelope addressed to each individual college’s Admissions Dept. and with adequate postage, return address your hs address. All they will have to do is tuck the LOR in the correct envelope and send it on its way. You can write the deadline date in one corner to give the writer a heads up.
