And how do you retain information that you have learned in class. it is really hard for me to retain information sometimes, but throughout my high school year I have worked on it without my medication. I am now in community college and so far I have a B and an A in my science classs at the moment.
I go to school everyday even if I don’t go to school at 8am and study for two hours then an hour break and go back to studying for three hours. I cannot study at home because their are to many distractions.
When I’m studying I usually write in my book and highlight some things. My only problem with this is sometimes I feel like I’m not studying enough. When I took my first quiz for my anatomy class i made a 70, but when I took it again I made a 93. I want to make 90 or above the first time I take a test/quiz
For my second class I made an 80 and then an 80 again the second time again I would like to make 90 or above as well as retain the stuff I have learned.
To help with my ADHD I would read four pages a day two pages per book in the morning and two at noon or so with an hour break in between.
I also type some flashcards in quizlet on my phone.
My main way of studying is rewriting notes.
That’s what I need to start doing
This book has great ideas:

Also go to each of your professors and say “What have you found are the best strategies for learning the material for this class?” and see what ideas they have
I’m on dean’s list (microbiology at ucd)
- Focus your studying goals on mastering concepts not amount of time spent studying
- Force yourself to go to the library and don’t bring earbuds with you
- Study whenever you can, toilet, bus, eating, commercials
- Go on ratemyprofessor, look at tips raters leave behind
- Never have long study sessions (<2 hours), your mind will melt and you mix stuff up
- Pain is temporary, GPA is forever
It’s different for everyone. My friend has to reread and voice out her notes several time to get it down. She usually starts this a few days before a test to make sure it’s in her head. My other friend uses flash cards and flips through them whenever she gets the chance. For me, I have to understand and be able to visualise how it works instead of just memorising the terms and vocab. Basically, knowing the how rather than the definition.
I think I’m the same way, with one of my text books I have a hard time sometimes visualizing the material because there is so much detail, but little explanations or even illustrations
