So high school is supposed to be the time in our lives where we discern our likes and dislikes, etc. What subject(s) have or are you taking that you realized, perhaps a month or two into the school year, that you HATE/LOVE?

For me, it's biology. I took regular biology sophomore year. I was never too fond of it, but I couldn't really forumate an opinion since the class was so damn easy and basic. This year, I'm taking AP Bio, and I've realized that I hate the subject, even though I pull off As. I find it extremely dull, and rote memorization doesn't bode well with me.

This year, I've found that I absolute LOVE US history and calculus. I'm not great at calculus, but I find it fascinating and I enjoy it, even though I have to work at it more than I do my other classes.

Well I'm only a junior but I found that I love biology and chemistry and can't determine which I prefer. In middle school and as a frosh, I absolutely hated science classes, but now I love them.
I used to love history, now I hate it though. It's so boring. Volte-how can you hate bio because of the memorization when history is basically 90% memorization and has no great applications.
I also hate statistics. Talk about nap time there.

i love us history (because of my two most recent teachers--incredibly amazing teachers that turned my apathy for history into a passion) and bio

I hate AP Biology because of my teacher. Haha...yeah, and I agree that AP statistics is nap time, and I have it first period!

Right now I love yearbook, because aside from the deadlines, we basically do nothing. And when the yearbook is done, we have 4/5 months of nothing to do...talk about a free period!

I'm like you. I'm really enjoying the challenge of calc even though I'm not a math person. SPANISH is my least favorite subject. I know it's extremely useful and all that, but I've had really bad teachers who've just turned me off to it. blah.

greaterauthority, to me, history isn't about memorization. It's more about trends--political trends, cultural trends, socioeconomic trends. I find that it's very logical, much like calculus. I dunno, it's kind of hard for me to describe. :)

I love biology more than anything, which is unfortunate because AP bio isn't allowed until junior year (I've got my hands on a text, though, so we'll see how that goes). Mathematics in general are fun. English is fabulous when there are good books. There aren't any real subjects I dislike, though I really freaking hate gym and theatre arts. They're mandatory for graduation and taking up my free class periods >:(

What I think is important, though, is to distinguish between the class and the subject - like, I've got the worst combination of kids ever in my chem class, but the material is still interesting.

i love math though =D (well duh)
and i like latin and spanish

but this year one of my favorite classes is US History (honors, not AP) because the teacher is just so smart and interesting. plus it seems so much easier after practically dying the year before in AP Euro (HATED IT, i mean it was interesting and the teacher was cool, but it was SOOOO HARD!!!!)

oh yeah this isnt a subject but i HATE gym!!! ok, i already have to run after school every day for track so i do not want to run and get sweaty in the middle of the day! and my gym is weight training and we do the same thing every day! soooo boring. plus i have weights at home so i just use them after school anyway- i dont like to push myself in school because i am always tired and lazy. so its just a wasted period
