I can’t take math at my school senior year because of scheduling conflicts, so I’m planning on taking online math at my local CC this summer. Should I take statistics, college algebra, or finite mathematics?
What math classes have you taken so far?
I’ve taken up to pre-calc.
Are you also planning on taking Calc at the CC?
Stats is probably what I would take
Ask this year’s math teacher. And bring a copy of the course descriptions from the CC course catalog.
I’m not planning on taking calc at all, if I can avoid it. I’ll probably end up taking stats.
Not everyone finds Calculus I harder than Stats. Again, ask your math teacher to look at the course description!
The next course after precalculus is calculus, although introductory non-calculus-based statistics is also an option. Finite math usually refers to a survey of topics other than calculus. College algebra duplicates the math you should have learned in high school.
Colleges may have mandatory or advisory placement testing before you take your first math course, because many of them do not trust that every high school has covered high school math properly.

What is more important in your schedule than math?
