Hey guys,
This question is for current Quakers and applicants

What subject teachers did you guys get your recommendations from, and how many?

I was thinking of getting 3, but I realized that is probably overkill, and 2 would be fine + counselor recs.

As I was leaning towards the PPE program, I figured I'd get my recommendations from my APUSH teacher, and from my AP Lit one. However, I've known my AP Chem teachers for longer, but I was thinking that Chemistry would be too irrelevant to show that I'd fit in with PPE.

Thoughts, Comments, and Answer the question xD

P.S. My teachers are on strike, so can't ask them yet xD The strike better end soon >_>

actually i wrote about ppe and had my bio teacher write me a recommendation. honestly just get a recommendation from the teachers who like you the most and know you the best.

^
No, but its recommended that they are because your teachers would probably remember you clearer, plus the subjects would be harder.

And yeah RZA, though it's hard because my AP Chem teachers knew me for 2 years, plus he was a Cornell grad so I'm sure he'd know how to write. Whilst my AP Lang teacher was also my debate coach so we got to know eachother well, and my APUSH teacher met me this year and we got to talk a lot.
Gah, to bad they only allow/want 2 recommendations T_T

Consider asking your teachers who could write the best recs for you. Your teachers may be better friends with each than you realize, and they may have an idea of who can write a better rec for you. Writing recs is extremely common, and they'll understand where you're coming from.

Also, consider asking all 3 to write recs, and keep them on file. You may need them for other schools or other things in the future.

Don't worry about your teachers being relevant to the Penn major. As long as your teacher knows you, and had you in a serious class (which chem, lit, and history are), you're fine.
