What test should I put more preparation time into!?

My Scores:

SAT: 1140
ACT: 28

I have the whole summer to prep but I dont think I have enough time to study for both

should I focus all my attention on ACT and hope that it will also improve my SAT? or vice versa..I think I have a way better shot at improving ACT than SAT

So which one should I focus on?

Is your SAT score out of 1600 or 2400? If the former, I would just focus on ACT and not bother retaking the SAT; however, if you got a 1140 on the 2400 scale than you should probably study for both in order to: a) make your ACT score even more competitive; and b) show that your ACT score wasn’t a weird fluke (a 28 ACT and a 1140 CR+M+V aren’t even in the same league). Studying for the ACT will most likely not improve your SAT score; the tests are vastly different in structure, content, timing, etc.

Some people say the ACT is easier to improve on while others think the SAT is easier to improve on. Your ACT score is better than your SAT score (if you’re talking about on the 1600 or 2400 scale). The ACT’s material really isn’t that hard, so get the red book and take every practice test and make sure you are timing yourself. If time is a problem for you, just keep on practicing and try to learn new techniques to reading the passages in the reading and science sections.

I’m going to agree with everyone else on the ACT as your SAT is a lot better. Any idea for me though? My scores are almost on par
SAT: 1740 (1240 M/V)
ACT: 28 (25 reading/30math/26 english/30 science)

Go with the ACT as studying can improve your score significantly.

I took the ACT in 8th and brought my score froma 24 to a 32 in now 10th. For example, i’ll share a score: My math went from a 26 to a 35.

Now, the SAT. My math score in 8th grade was actually higher then my current score… Even though I know a lot more… I’ve consistently gotten 690-700 lately on the math while knowing how to do every question on the math section and a 730 back two years ago without knowing how to do several…
