ACT or SAT: Which is better in this circumstance?

<p>Hello CC. </p>

<p>As a rising Senior, I'm hoping to solidify my transcript with a high ACT/SAT score. Currently, I am considering taking both the SAT and ACT three times to maximize my chances of earning a high score, but I'd like some input on whether I should focus more heavily on one than the other.</p>

<p>I recently took the SAT in June and scored a 1930 (660 CR / 570 M / 700 W). I did this without any real prep, so I'm hoping to raise that over the summer.</p>

<p>At the same time, I'm also looking into the ACT, which I think may be more up my alley due to my lack of problem with timing. </p>

<p>Essentially: Which test is better for students who are on the weaker side in math, but have no problem with reading timing or studying copious amounts. Also, is it true that the ACT is easier to improve with rigorous studying?</p>

<p>ACT math is more difficult than SAT. ACT has trig and harder problems but it is straightforward, SAT Math is a bit convoluted lol.</p>

<p>If you are good at timing, then try ACT. Beware, if you are good at SAT timing you won’t necessarily be too great at ACT timing. Take a practice test, there are several online, and see for yourself!</p>

<p>The ACT has slightly more difficult math and tougher time constraints. The SAT has tougher reading. Try the ACT; you might be surprised. I only got a projected range of 27-31 on my Explore test (8th grade practice ACT) but I got 34s on both of my real ACTs.</p>

<p>The ACT is an easier test but the timing is much more restricted than that of the SAT. If you’re the kind of person who can just get stuff done without really taking too long, the ACT is for you. If you like to ponder for a while on things, the SAT is for you.</p>
