where i live it's already march 25, so basically we get our decisions today :))

My assumption is that they mean EST, because I can't imagine them coordinating the timezones and uploading the decisions of students in certain time zones at certain times. I do, however, believe that those people getting the 7PM e-mail might actually not be able to check decisions until 7PM. It's very possible that they'll make sure the 6PM wave doesn't crash the servers and only then upload the 7PM wave.

its usually their time zone so 6 or 7 pm EST

6pm

Am I the only one who received an email saying 8 P.M.??

i got no email :(. i hope they know that i applied :)

I called Duke and told them I didn't get an email... they just told me to check online either a 6 or 7 tomorrow since they can't remember which one they assign me to and see which one works for me...

I also didn't receive an email. I wonder if this means anything....

EDIT: Wow, I just went back and got out my letter from December confirming that they received my application....turns out they had a mispelled version of my email. Well, that would explain it. lol.

well, i got no email.
and i have no idea what my access code is...

but i got an email previously saying, "thanks for applying," so i'm sure they got my application...

anyway, for me, since i can't check my decision online >.<
when will they be mailing the decisions?

Here ya go:

... we will still be mailing all of our decision letters the last week of March, or we can provide your admissions decision by telephone beginning Friday, March 28, 2008.

Wouldn't it be awkward to find out you got rejected via phone? I mean, I could be like "Hey, I'm calling to find out about my admission decision" and the admission officer would be like, "Um...yeah... (long pause)... I'm sorry but you didn't get in..." I don't know about you, but that would suck, lol.

OMG, it WOULD!!!!

Didn't get an email here either, though I've gotten all the other ones they've sent. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Good luck guys!

ooh thanks

i am definitely not finding out my decision by phone. i think i may be one of those people who have to have one of those long pauses followed by a sympathetic "sorry"

No what would be worse is if you called them, asking to check on your decision...and they say "I'm sorry but an applicant under your name is not in our system" - HAHHAHA that would be complete ownage.

If I don't get in I'm going to call for my decision on friday, and when they tell me I'm rejected I'm going to ask if I can come anyway.

hahahahaha DO IT! :P

Phone rejections are plain awkward for everyone involved. I got deferred over the phone from georgetown EA. What do you say to someone whose dreams just got crushed in one sentence? haha
