My guess is 4:00 when admissions closes, but does anyone actually know?
And do they send an email or do we check the portal?

I think it was around 4 or 4:30 in the past.
And I think there is an email saying there was a change in status on the portal. Then you view the decision on the portal.

@maryland604 Thanks for the info. I was assuming it’d be after admissions closes to avoid phone calls. I’m driving myself crazy during this waiting process!!

We went to UGA’s First Look day this past Monday. Admissions Department told us the email will be sent 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
Any other good inside info from First Look?

They told us that applications are up more than ever this year, so it is obvious that it is getting more and more competitive to get in. They also said the bulk of scholarships are awarded with admissions. The top 10-15 percent are accepted into Honors automatically with their admission. If you don’t fall into that category, you can apply for Honors starting Dec. 1 (if you have been accepted already). After one of the sessions a student asked an admissions person if UGA would consider matching a full scholarship she had already been offered at another large school. (I was standing behind her so I overheard this). The admissions officer told her no, they do not take other offers a student has received from other schools into consideration whatsoever.
I’m so anxious. Does anyone have any tips on how to stay calm and not get too stressed? Can’t believe it’s tomorrow.
@maryland604 I’ve made lunch plans with friends and cleaned out cupboards and drawers in my kitchen over the past few days. Also, started researching schools for my daughter who’s a year younger. My son applied to 12 schools and as of right now my crazy brain has him being rejected from all of them!! We just need that 1st acceptance and I think we’ll all feel better. At least that’s what I’m telling myself. This is my first time through this.
Oh, and there’s a 99% chance of a snow day here tomorrow so he’ll be home all day…waiting!!

DS has recieved an acceptance from his safety school, the only one with rolling admission out of 11, but that does take some of the stress off. UGA and Terry College of Business is a dream school for him but he’s potentially borderline on the SAT and out of state, so we will see how it goes down today. Good luck everyone!
Good luck today! This will be my first decision out of 11, so needless to say I’m very nervous… 4 PM ET cannot come soon enough!
My son has football practice until 6:00!!! Would it make me a bad mother if I snuck on and looked before him?!?!
So bad!!! I won’t do it, but it’ll take all my strength.
My crazy brain has been thinking the same thing for the last week…no reason…my brain just goes there.
