I studied for the sat I last year, and got a pretty decent score. im taking it again in eight days, but I havent intensly prepped over everything, so far i've just been taking practice tests untimed to get used to the test format and questions again. i've also been learning bundles of vocab words on the side

im going to be taking my first practice test today. my parents say i should try but its too late to increase my score drastically. i guess thats true- but my best friend got the exact same score as me last year, and she just got her october scores, and had a hundred point increase.

if i work my butt off, is it possible to get a hundred pt increase? *pls be honest

any time saving strategies? i'd really appreciate any tips!

I got a 2000 in my June SAT. I studied moderately over the summer - mainly reading books and other indirect forms of preparation (with a bit of new vocab every now and again). I did a few practice tests over the course of the summer, but about a week before I took two practice tests to really get comfortable with the sections. In October I was able to get 2190 (190 point increase!). I’m retaking again in December, but I’d say the best thing to do is a few timed practice tests so that you know exactly what to do when you take the real test. For me it was a matter of gaining confidence in myself and in the test.

EDIT: Also - an important point. Hopefully by doing practice tests you’ve found a strategy that works best for you. Whilst you can read strategies in books or on the internet, not everything is going to work for you. Try to fine tune these strategies to suit your test taking style - for me this was most important in the critical reading section.
