Ive just placed my deposit for the UConn Storrs campus an hour ago. I am wondering about how long do I need to wait for them to process my deposit payment?

And am I able to apply for housing right after I paid my deposit, or do I need to wait until after the orientation packet get mailed to me? The housing application said I am not eligible to do housing, so thats why I asked.

Last question is, the netID and password for housing (when I get access to it), is it the same as the Huskies email one?

Thanks.

Hi Tracy,
Congrats on making your decision! My son put his deposit down about two weeks ago and we had the same questions as you. After you make your deposit, you should get an email within a week or so with instructions on how to sign up for an orientation session. He tried to immediately sign up for a session after paying the deposit and found out you have to wait for the email. As far as housing goes, your UConn netid is different than your email id. He got his last year because he took some high school early college education classes through UConn. If you’re not sure about your netid, call the tech svcs help desk at 860-486-4357. They will be able to help you. Hope this helps and congrats again!

You actually we make your net id later on so do not worry about that yet. Once you get the email sign up for the earliest orientation that you can attend because you select classes for the fall and the later you have orientation the less classes you have left open. As far as housing goes, your deposit doesnt need to be in quite yet, i can’t actually remember when that was. Also for housing as long as you pay your deposit before the deadline you are guarenteed housing as a freshman and they assign you your room regardless. The net ID and email are completely different and you will also get a student id.
