Hi, everybody... I am a moroccan student who would like to study in the USA after graduating in high school. Well, my desire to go there burns me because I love Pure Mathematics and also the renowned of American universities.

Well, I would like to opt for a undergraduate business program. I'll take the TOEFL this year. My mathematical abilities are highest at school, I always help people in Mathematics in the Homework forum and at school.

So, I just want to know if I have any chance to get into a business school as an international student... And I would like to know if I have made the good choices according the the studies I want to do. A program that will allow me to do an MBA after.

Admission to the top MBA programs is primarily dependent upon your work history, your GMAT score, letters of recommendation from your employers and former college professors, and your undergraduate GPA. The good MBA programs expect at least two (preferably more) years of work experience with increasing responsibility. You do not need a degree from a US college or university in order to be admitted here for an MBA program, and you do not need to take a single business class as an undergraduate in order to get into an MBA program.

It would be perfectly fine to major in Math if that is what you really want to do. One parent recently recommended that a student complete a degree in engineering because it would almost certainly lead to a good job with prospects of advancement, in order to make MBA admission more likely. Since you are a strong math student, that could be an option for you.

Thank you so much. But i don’t know what to do, I hesitate between doing engineering and doing an undergraduate program. What do you think will be useful for me ?

don’t worry about MBA right now, just do what you like to do in the UG and when you are successful in that discipline after graduation, you will be admitted to a top MBA program. UG in business does not itself lend into a top MBA school.

As far as MBA concerned, you want to be in the top tier school, such as Harvard, Chicago, MIT… etc etc. It makes a lot of difference. In that context, lots of MBA students are sponsored by the company and you do not have to pay for it.

For an internation to be in the TOP MBA program in the US, the most important discipline is the English Language.

It is often recommended not get an undergrad business degree if you plan to get an MBA. Double majoring in math and economics would be a great foundation for an MBA finance program.
